April's Covid Activities and Memories

We made it through the month of homeschooling and quarantining. It was really enjoyable to have so much family time, quiet time, and time outdoors. Here are some highlights.

Drive by birthday parades are now a thing!
David was able to celebrate three different pre-school friends with a drive by parade!

Masks all the time!

Lewis created a pot version of the Imperial March from Star Wars and performed it for his band class. They knew what it was right away - it sounded awesome!

Beau loves to wander around the yard on his own and pretend he's battling people. He does this either with his stick-rifle or his pretend light sabers.

My room is a mess all the time! Here's my zoom Music Together class set up left overs. 

We've done a few scavenger hunts that my friend had created for her kids. Here's the boys doing one that I created. Air heads in the little library at the end.

Home hair cuts! I did a pretty good job!

Since we don't have a working oven, rice krispy treats for dessert, plus deliveries of the extras to our neighbors. 

David has had some amazing play do creations. And, here he is on a zoom call for his preschool.

The school offered some great outdoor activities and options on Earth Day. We went on a hunt in Kunkel woods to find nature pieces to create crafts with. We also picked up trash in Kunkel to help the environment.

David wanted to make puppets one morning!

The older boys are often so sweet to read to David.
They also like to play a game where they see how long they can stay on the fireplace hearth without getting off! 

Beau became obsessed with the idea of doing a 5K. So, even though it was raining and miserable, on a Sunday afternoon, off he went. We ran some and walked quite a bit. Three times there and back to Toll Gate. He had us all cheer him on as he came in at the finish. 

One of the occasional perks of Mike working from home is when he gets inspired to make lunch for us. Here is a salmon cake salad he put together - so beautiful and completely delicious! 

I don't know where we'd be without a trampoline. It's the best! 

David earned enough reward points to cash in for a movie night where he got to pick the movie and make his brothers watch according to his preferences. Plus birch beer and cream soda and unlimited popcorn. He was so happy! (Octonauts, of course, was his choice!)

 Beau and I have been Monopoly obsessed!
