Beginning of January

After New Years, we got tickets to go snow tubing at Shawnee Mountain and then skiing later in the day. What a way to start the year! The snow tubing was quite fun, but skiing was the highlight! It was a fun mountain, and the boys really loved having longer runs. Lewis and Beau even tried the black diamonds there! David was even up and rolling, and I am officially the slowest skier in the family now! :-)

David had gotten a building kit for and had a ton of fun making a little wooden tool box with Mike. It was a great gift for our other little engineer!

The first two weeks of the school year after winter break were deemed remote weeks in order to allow covid cases to play out and not have people exposed. Smart decision. So, we were back to lots of zoom calls.

And, Beau got his certificate for his belt testing at martial arts. 

End of December and New Year's Eve

We had a GREAT post-Christmas week! 

We went ice skating in Flemington and had such a good time! Then from there, we drove to a ski shop to rent skis for the season - very exciting!

I was gifted a dustbuster for Christmas. Amazing present! I can't believe we haven't had one of these since before Singapore. It is truly the best gift ever! And, David loves it.

This is such a happy activity for our family! 

Tickets were hard to come by this year because everyone is trying to go since it's a Covid friendly activity and no one has anything else to do! For our first outing, we went to Spring Mountain. Tiny, but good to get up again. It was really crowded, so we had very long lines at the lifts. But, we still had a great time. 

We invited the Bahr kids over for NYE in order to gift a 24 hours off for their parents. It was so, so fun. Their kids are full of life and so lovely. We set up this list of ideas and options, and ended up doing most of the things on the list. It was really fun! 

Breakfast the next morning. Everyone was really happy, even if a tad bit tired!

Christmas

I have to say....I think this is the least number of photos I've ever taken on a Christmas Day. Probably due to the no sleep!!! 

Santa totally rocked the stockings this year! Everyone got a special, new mask that was perfect for them! Very good for a covid Christmas! Here's Beau's rap lyrics mask along with his new gold chain Santa brought him! David got a shark mask. (And a fart whistle!!! Good for the year that is most characterized by potty talk!!!)  Lewis got a music pun mask! 

Opening mom and dad's stockings! Good presents! Spices and oils and our favorite running socks for my no-sugar husband. But, look how tired!

The very happy reveal downstairs! What a year of presents! This was especially a home run for Lewis!

Beau gave Mike sunglasses. So cute! Cool logic puzzles from Auntie Fogo. And, of course a Hess truck from Didi. And shirts from Hilary!

And quite the mess afterwards!!! :-) A happy mess though!
